Abstract :

Aiming to stimulate academic dialogue, this article presents an exploratory analysis of the ethnography of the state in Chile. It offers an overview of the evolution and characteristics of this field through the study of research projects, academic forums and recent scientific publications where its authors approach the state ethnographically. The article argues that, following regional trends, ethnography of the state in Chile is characterized as a heterogeneous and diverse field, echoing the analytical challenge of approaching the concept of the state. It highlights the diffuse limits that defy a precise delimitation of ethnography of the state as a field, indicating a dynamic area of study in constant construction, open to new questions and debates and capable of permeating the boundaries of the different disciplines of the social sciences.
